There are many different ways in which you can bake bread. When you are making bread pudding with caramelized bananas, you need to prepare two different components of the dish separately before combining or assembling them into one main dessert. These two components are the bread pudding and the caramel sauce. Let’s start off with a simple recipe for the bread pudding.

Bread Pudding Recipe

List of Ingredients:

● Three quarters of a cup of golden raisins

● 12 ounce of croissants (make sure that they are freshly baked)

● 3 cups of whole milk

● 2 large egg yolks

● 3 big eggs

● Three quarters of a cup of white sugar

● 1 vanilla bean

Baking Directions

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees. Take a cooking pan and fill it up with water up to half an inch. Take another glass baking dish and spread raisins all over its base. Slice up the croissants and place them carefully over the raisins in the glass baking dish.

As the oven heats up, take a large bowl and blend in the milk, the whole eggs, the egg yolks and the white sugar. Split the vanilla bean and put half of the seeds in the mixture inside the bowl. Save the remaining half for the next usage. With all the ingredients in the bowl, use an electric mixer to create the perfect blended mixture. Operate the electric mixer at medium speed for about a minute and a half. Stop mixing when the mixture turns frothy.

This mixture should now be poured over the croissants in the glass baking dish. Let the contents of the baking dish rest for a while. As you wait, press down on the croissants with the help of a tablespoon. This allows the croissants to re-submerge in the egg mixture and soak in all the dampness. Once the croissants have been soaked, you can place the glass baking dish inside water-filled cooking pot.

Put the cooking pot inside the oven and start baking at 350 degrees. The baking should go on for a minimum of 50 minutes or until the croissants have turned golden brown. Once the baking is complete, take out the baking dish and place it over a cooling holder.

Caramel Sauce Recipe

Getting the caramel sauce spot on is just as important as nailing the bread pudding recipe. An overly sweet or salty caramel sauce is going to ruin this wonderful dessert.

List of Ingredients

● 4 ounces of white sugar

● 4 ounces of butter

● 4 ounces of brown sugar

● 4 ounces of light corn syrup

● 16 ounces of heavy cream

● 2 ounces of vanilla

● 1 pound of bananas that have been roasted and pureed

Cooking Directions

All the butter must be dissolved at high heat in a sauce pan. Once melted, add in the white sugar, the brown sugar, the light corn syrup and half of the heavy cream. Mix the ingredients and bring the mixture to a boil. At this point in time, slowly stir in the remaining heavy cream. Boil the blend for the next 3 minutes. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add the vanilla, the roasted bananas and the banana puree one at a time. Let the mixture cool down to room temperature. Do not refrigerate the caramel sauce or else it will solidify.

● 4 ounces of bread pudding

● 3 ounces of caramel sauce

● 2 ounces of French toast batter

● 2 ounces of cinnamon sugar

● 4 ounces of coconut ice cream


Start by soaking the bread pudding in the French toast mixture. The French toast must then be deep fried till it develops a nice golden brown colour. Add the cinnamon sugar. Arrange the pieces of French toast decoratively in a serving platter. Use the coconut ice cream and caramelized bananas for garnish. Top off the dish with the delectable banana infused caramel sauce.
